I should support what I affiliate with, huh?!

In the last blog I had shared with you all that I had embarked on an affiliate marketing adventure...well, I have jumped that ship (sort of) and have had my money refunded from that company - it ended up being something that I just couldn't get behind.
In the meantime, I will continue to look for ways to bring in a bit of income - though, I truly believe that being a stay at home mom is ENOUGH, despite what our culture has us, mothers, believing... More on that topic later!

I started to follow Tara Wagner and The Organic Sisterhood when Sydney was first born in search of the woman I felt who had emerged after birthing myself into motherhood.  She has a wonderful website for woman who want to be involved with other like minded woman, a tribe! - www.the organicsisterhood.com  Through her is where I have learned so much about the ways I want to raise our children and treat not only our children but, all children.
She and her husband have another website called Sustainable Baby Steps, which has boo-coos of great material for anyone who is interested in living a healthy green lifestyle - www.sustainablebabysteps.com.  This is where I have come across a way to make a few dollars here and there through becoming an affiliate for this site.  I feel comfortable sharing something I believe in and that is eating healthy and living green - reduce, reuse, recycle!  The links that follow are for e-books, really affordable and worth every penny.  I will make 50% of the sale price for every purchase through my affiliate links!

I am going to snuggle up on the couch and dive into an incredible book that is expanding my heart - helping me to grow and change right along with my incredible children!  Oh, you want to know the title - Raising Our Children, Raising Ourselves by Naomi Aldort.
It can be purchased here - Raising Our Children, Raising Ourselves

Happy Friday,

This blog...

Wow, I am embarking on a new adventure, other than raising two precious girls, a work from home marketing program aimed at making money to help me help my family to make much needed income so, we can enjoy life more fully, while Jeff finishes his apprenticeship with the electrical union (and to help ease some of his stresses of making enough money for our family so i can be home raising our girls), and to help me finish my courses in The Science and Art of Herbalism - Eventually getting me to the beginning of a business of my own!

While setting up my storefront and all this crazy new stuff this work from home job requires I came across this old blog from when Sydney was 9 months old... enjoy the read and please, please stop back by and see what is new as I will be posting more news of what the Hersrud's have been up to because, you know I have so much more to say about motherhood, parenting, love, hurting, growing, changing and all these new emotions that come along with being a parent of not just one but two sweet babies!

When I first attempted to start this blog, I knew it was going to be a challenge but, I didn't realize how big of a challenge it would truly be!  I wanted it to be a place to share our life with Sydney, with you all.  I thought, hey, there will be plenty to write about, no problem....well, 9 months into being a mother I know there is much to share but, such little time to sit and write about our times. I have also realized that there is SO much more to share than just her- there is also ME and I'm okay with expressing this and acknowledging it!  Knowing that through birthing Sydney, I could also "birth" a mother was something I really tried to think about when I was going through labor and before then.  I hadn't seen much of this reflecting in my emotions up until more recently.  Actually,....um, how can I put this- Me, but NEW-full of new emotions, new ideas about life, motherhood, being a daughter, being a mother and the relationship between all these things.  Yes, it can seem overwhelming, but I am willing to bend, give and take, work really hard at being a good mother, and I know that means being really great at being me!

So, this blog will become a place to share in my NEW life that has been so graciously given to me through my birthing experience- what a wonderful thing it is being a woman and fully embracing all it has to offer us!
And I couldn't thank the woman at The Family Birth Center, NB, enough-Amber Riedel,, Joani and Ashley for taking part in bringing Sydney into our lives, and also, Meridian Craig, best of luck through your journey into becoming a being a midwife.

Changing is hard, but so worth it,

Sarah H.
